COLECIONADOR DE ALMAS ("COLLECTOR OF SOULS")

Game design, game creation,

graphic design, art direction.

In the beginning,

I decided to create a card game mainly for practical reason: they are cheaper to produce and can be very fun with nice mechanics behind it. So I picked a dark theme, created a story about these ghosts to define more clearly a concept and create some terrible scary visuals. Each one of the card was drawn by me (there's 124 cards on the deck) and also all the other necessary elements, like manual, box and boards.

The 10 ghosts "haunting" the game. All of them were created using over a thousands old photos from libraries around the world from

1890 to 1910.

Their story, the connections between them and some secrets behind the cards would be revealed playing an ARG (Alternate Reality Game), with clues scattered on the web - making the game a real transmedia game.

Special cards

(with special consequences to the rhythm of the game).

Object cards give to the player special powers on the game. Illustrations and

photo editions to create the old style

engraving effect.

Shield cards used as a defence. They should be aligned in front of the player - to look like a "wall" - protecting him.

Action cards.

They help or difficult

the performance

of the player.

Illustrations for each category of action.

Scoreboard background based on Gustave Doré artwork.

Excerpts of the Manual. Small infographics and on the last page a new concept: QR codes lead the player to small videos on Youtube, explaining that section in 1 minute.
